Canadian Red Cross - Oxygen Administration

The course covers how to operate oxygen devices and handling breathing devices. Participants also learn how to respond and treat respiratory emergencies.

About this course:

  • 3-year certification or as medical control allows, or legislation or professional designation dictates
  • Adhere to local legislation as required
  • Conducted by a certified Red Cross First Responder Instructor or Emergency Medical Responder Instructor

Who should attend: Those who need to manage oxygen in the workplace. Must hold current CPR Level C or CPR Level HCP.

Course content:
  • Breathing Devices
  • Resuscitation Masks
  • Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM)
  • Supplemental Oxygen
  • Delivery Devices
  • Written exam (min. passing grade 75%)

Take-home materials: Red Cross Oxygen Administration Manual, Certification card.
Time: 3-4 hours (Day or Evening classes / during the week or weekends)
