Emergency Child Care ( Child Safe )
This course is designed for parents child care providers and Approved for Child & Day Care Workers: This 9 hour national certification course is approved by the Provincial Childcare Facilities Licensing Board of the Ministry of Health for Licensed Child Care and Day Care Workers. The program focuses on first aid for infants and children up to eight (8) years of age. Great course for new parents, Grandparents & babysitters.
Course content:
- Emergency Scene Management
- Shock, Unconsciousness and Fainting
- Choking - infant, child, adult
- Cardiovascular Emergencies - infant, child, Now includes some adult
- Severe Bleeding
- Medical Conditions - Asthma, seizures, anaphylactic shock, diabetes + more
- Modified secondary survey
- Bone & joint injuries
- Head spinal & pelvic injuries
- Rescue carries
- Burns
- eyes
- Poisons bites & stings

Certification: valid for 3 years upon successful completion of course.

Course Materials: Standard First Aid Student Guide
Time: 9 hours (8:30am - 5:30pm)

Day Care Facilities:
Ministry of Health, Community Care Facilities Licensing Branch requires all employees who work at a licensed facility to have an approved first aid certificate. St. John Ambulance courses that qualify include ECC, SFE, SS2, & SS3.
