St. John Ambulance - What Every Babysitter Should Know
This course is designed to teach young people (11 and older) how to baby sit children and infants. The course will enhance knowledge of safety, responsible babysitting and will develop skills to cope with common emergencies. Students who successfully complete the program will be issued a certificate of completion.
They learn valuable tips, as well as:
- Important child care skills
- 2 1/2 hour of basic life saving first aid skills
- Safety tips for children of all ages
- How to cope with common problems, like tantrums and crying
- What to do if anything makes the babysitter uncomfortable
- Some great games and other ideas for having fun with the kids while babysitting
- How to make the children's environment safe and enjoyable
- What are the respective rights and responsibilities of the babysitter and the family hiring one
Certification: Baby Sitting certificate upon successful completion of the course.
Prerequisites: 11 years of age and older. Mature 10 1/2 year old.
Course Materials: Baby Sitting Training Guide
Time:7 Hours, 1/2 hour for lunch = 7 1/2 hrs - One day course (9:00am - 4:30pm)
Price: $60.00 (price includes textbooks and is subject to change)
Classes are limited to 18 students.

Note: Kids must bring a lunch and something to drink (fridge & microwave are available at the school). We ask that parents be on time to pick up your kids, parents should be there at 4:15. Kids can dress comfortably. Bring a pen or pencil and paper to take notes.
